LIFE-LONG lovers Allan and Greta Priestner celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary last week.
The pair, both aged 82, met at the tender age of 16 and were married six years later at Christ Church, Padgate, on June 5, 1954 – the day before Greta’s 22nd birthday!
The couple, who have lived in Lymm since their marriage, celebrated with family, friends, staff and residents at Cheshire Grange Care Home.
“We’d like to thank the team at Cheshire Grange for all their assistance and helpfulness on our big day,” says Allan.
“I like to think the key to a long and happy marriage is to be tolerant, work together, and the years just tick by!”
Allan and Greta have two children, Malcolm and Beverly, and seven grandchildren.
Allan is a member of Lymm Golf Club, and Greta enjoys gardening, flower-arranging and painting.
