THE council’s plans for development across the town over the next 15 years are set to be finally approved next month.
Warrington Borough Council’s Local Plan Core Strategy has been declared ‘sound’ by the Government appointed planning inspector after being submitted in September 2012.
A number of changes from the initial proposal have been brought in following inspector recommendations and changes also include 1,000 homes being earmarked for Omega and the deletion of a policy which identified land at Appleton, Grappenhall Heys, Peel Hall and Pewterspear Green for houses.
Clr Terry O’Neill, leader of Warrington Borough Council said: “This is great news for our town and another landmark step forward. This document provides a robust plan that will shape and protect the way in which our town evolves and develops over the coming decades.
“Importantly it will also support our ambitions for the growth of our town set out in our growth framework Warrington Means Business.”
The document will go to full council on July 21 and to view it visit warrington.gov.uk.
