TEENAGERS in the town put their heads together to challenge key decision makers about what they had done to achieve the priorities set out in Warrington’s Integrated Youth Strategy.
Young people aged 13 to 19 were invited to the Youth Café, the Skills Bank and the Careers Centre to attend the youth challenge event in May.
Clr Jean Carter, executive board member for children and young people’s services, said the feedback from young people and professionals was ‘positive’.
She said: “Young people were pleased to have the chance to make their voice heard and to find out about services, and professionals valued receiving direct feedback from their service users.”
“The challenge now is to make sure that the council and its partner agencies respond to what we have been told and amend the Integrated Youth Strategy to make sure that it meets the needs of young people across the borough.”
