YOUNGSTERS from Brook Acre Primary School unleashed their wild side on Monday as part of one of the most ambitious and innovative schools multi-art form initiatives to take place in Warrington.

Pupils roared into action when they took part in a wild in art visual workshop by professional art Sumit Sarkar.

The primary school pupils offered a helping hand in creating carnival-inspired animals, which will be on display at two Carnival of the Animals concerts later this month.

The art classes were part of a wider scheme by the critically-acclaimed Northern Chamber Orchestra and Accent Warrington and Halton Music Education Hub to bring one of the all-time favourite pieces of classical music for children to the town.

NCO and Accent Music Education Hub have joined forces to give approximately 450 children from fifteen primary schools, the opportunity to participate in the Carnival of the Animals through art forms such as dance, music and poetry.

Saint-Saens Carnival of the Animals will be performed at the Parr Hall on Thursday, June 26, with a participatory primary schools concert and an evening concert.

Pupils will then get to perform their work to an audience of classmates and teachers at a schools concert later that afternoon.
