COMEDIAN John Bishop is coming to Parr Hall on September 12 for a warm-up gig ahead of his Supersonic arena tour.

No stranger to Warrington, the Liverpudlian last visited the historic venue five years ago and has since become a national TV personality.

Expect stories from John’s life as a dad-of-three, cycling around the world, football and working as a nightclub doorman.

The 47-year-old had a career in the medical industry before performing stand-up in Manchester for the first time in 2000.

He went on to win awards around the north west and had major recognition in 2010 with the Best Male Comedy Breakthrough Artist accolade at the British Comedy Awards.

John has also become renowned for his charity work raising £3.4million for Sport Relief in 2012.

And last month he donated £96,000 to the Hillsborough Family Support Group after being moved by personal statements delivered by the victim’s families at their inquests.

It is likely that John’s gig will sell out very quickly so it is advised to buy tickets as soon as they become available on Friday at 10am
