SAINSBURY’S will host a stall to help raise issues about abuse and neglect ahead of this year’s World Elder Abuse Awareness Day.

You can get advice on how to recognise and report abuse of older people at the Church Street store on Friday, June 13.

Clr Pat Wright, executive board member for health, wellbeing and adult services, said: “The council is committed to combating abuse and neglect.

“We want to ensure all vulnerable residents of Warrington are able to live safely, free from the fear of abuse, neglect or victimisation.

“World Elder Abuse Awareness Day is an opportunity for us to raise the profile of this important issue and let people know that help is at hand if needed.”

To speak to someone regarding the wellbeing of an elderly friend or family member, call the access social care team, anonymously, on 444239, or police on 101.
