RESIDENTS are invited to attend a police open day to meet local officers and collect crime prevention advice.

The event at Arpley Street Police Station, which is open from 10.30am to 4pm on Saturday, June 7, will give visitors the chance to find out more about policing in the Warrington.

Visitors will also be able to take a tour of the museum and discover what it was like to be behind bars in the Victorian era.

Sergeant Rob Horton said; "The open day will allow local people to see how policing has evolved over the years.

“There will be plenty of children′s activities too. Budding detectives will be able to solve clues around the museum, have their fingerprints taken and dress up in historic and present day uniforms."
