THE search for a robber who escaped Thorn Cross prison on Tuesday morning continues. 

Police are still appealing for information as to the whereabouts of John Arnold who absconded from custody along with Anthony Peloe from the open prison in Appleton.

Peloe was caught in Speke on Wednesday evening. 

Arnold, aged 30, was convicted of robbery in 2006 and sentenced to a 2-year indeterminate sentence.

He is described as a white man, around 5′ 11" tall, and slim in build. He has brown hair and brown eyes. He may also be wearing prison issue green trousers.

Police are appealing to anybody who may have seen Arnold or have any information regarding his current whereabouts, to make contact with them using the police non-emergency number 101, and quoting incident 306 of 20/05/2014.

Police are advising as a precaution not to approach him - anyone who sees them is advised to immediately ring 999.
