RESIDENTS had to be evacuated from six homes in Great Sankey following a house fire on Tuesday.
Firefighters from Warrington, Stockton Heath, Birchwood and Widnes were called to the blaze in the mid terrace home on Shiggins Close around 8.50pm.
They found what they are describing as a 'well-developed' fire.
The row of six houses was evacuated while firefighters looked to tackle the flames.
They also removed tiles from the property to stop it from spreading to properties nearby.
Emergency services say nobody was injured.
The cause of the fire is yet to be confirmed. A fire investigation will begin once the area is made safe.
