AN Old Hall man will finally get to see himself on the small screen when the sixth and final episode of Watermen: A Dirty Business is broadcast tonight on BBC Two.

Viewers will be able to watch Andy as he oversees pioneering technology being used to try and reduce algae at a reservoir in Manchester.

He said: “It’s a bit nerve-wracking being in the last episode, after everyone else has appeared. People keep asking me if I’ve been lying and if I’m not really in the programme at all.

“I’m also a bit nervous about how I’ll come over on screen, but hopefully the story of us working on the reservoir will show people how challenging the work can be at times and how we need to be innovative to tackle these new problems.”

The TV series, which highlights the daily sights and smells encountered by staff and customers of water firm United Utilities, has been hailed as a huge success by the company.

An average 1.7 million people a week tuned in to the first five episodes of the BBC Two observational documentary on Tuesdays at 9pm.
