MANAGERS at Golden Square Shopping Centre have swapped board meetings for brushes as they go back to the floor.

They are spending the week getting to grips with roles including security, customer service, housekeeping, car park attendant, porter and maintenance staff.

The idea is to let them see what workload their staff face on a daily basis and managers have been getting dirty in full Golden Square uniform.

General manger Ian Cox said: “The back to the floor initiative gives myself and the management team the opportunity to engage with staff at all levels and experience the front line tasks that enable us to provide efficient service delivery and good customer service.

“We are all looking forward to the opportunity to gain an insight into the different roles and responsibilities that keep the centre operating.

“This campaign provides a unique chance for the team to enhance their leadership by gaining a practical understanding of how the centre works at every level."
