A COUPLE will be skipping the motorway queues and are instead opting to travel to this year’s Magic Weekend in style.
Grandparents Alan and Marjorie Clare will be sailing into Manchester on Friday night on board their Warrington Wolves-themed canal boat Blue Primrose.
The retired Penketh pair, who have been married for 37 years, decided it was time to travel to the game in a different way after owning the barge for the last four years.
Former nurse Marjorie added: “My husband and son were going to the game anyway so we thought we would make it a holiday as well.
“We got a shirt to match the colours up so it’s as near as it could be and it’s surprising how many comments we get.
“Sometimes it’s rival supporters and others will say things like ‘Good win last night’ but I’ve drawn the line at using the same colour scheme inside!”
The season ticket holders will now be hoping their journey is a lucky one ahead of Warrington’s clash with St Helens on Sunday.
