POLICE are appealing for information after two men conned their way into the home of an elderly woman in Whitecross.

Officers say the men claimed to be visiting to test alarms, with the victim, who is in her 80s, letting them in.

One man looked in the living room and dining room while the second man waited outside.

The incident happened between 10am and noon on Monday.

Police are treating it ‘very seriously’, although it is not yet known if anything was taken.

The men are described as white, in their 30s and of medium build.

They left the area on foot.
