THIS will be her first beauty pageant and contestant Rebecca Webb from Penketh is hoping she will have beginners luck when she competes in Miss Cheshire this weekend.

The 23-year-old fitness instructor and dancer hopes to take home the tiara so that she can use her title to help encourage both children and adults to keep fit and healthy.

The former Penketh High School pupil, who has already raised £160 for Variety Children’s Charity, said: “Some kids don’t think keeping fit is important but I’m hoping to change that.”

Rebecca, who teaches youngsters to dance at primary schools, is nervous but excited about the prospect of the competition, where she will model an outfit made out of recycled material and paperclips.

She added: “I just saw the advert for the competition and I just thought why not. I love being on the stage but, as it’s still something completely different, it will be nerve-wracking.

To help her gets her hands on the title, Rebecca is hoping her home town will get behind her.
