POPPY seeds will be handed out to residents in Lymm on Saturday as part of the commemorations for the 100th anniversary of the start of the First World War.
Members of the Lymm and District Round Table will stage the giveaway around The Cross from 10am.
In partnership with the parish council and Lymm in Bloom, the seeds will also be planted across the village as part of the Centenary Poppy Campaign.
Richard Storey, from the round table said: "We're encouraging all passers-by to come up, grab a packet and plant the seeds in their gardens - this way, along with all the poppies that will be blooming across the village, there will be many reminders of the countless men and women who fought and died for our country in The Great War.”
