THIS was the scene after a car smashed through a window an into the front of a Co-Operative shop on Lodge Drive in Culcheth.

Police and fire crews were called to the incident on Friday at 9.10pm and found the vehicle on its side but nobody had been trapped.

A Warrington East police spokesman later confirmed the driver and another man involved in the incident have been charged. 

Michael Rose, aged 32, has been charged with drink driving, use of a vehicle without third party insurance, and driving without due care and attention. 

Keith Stuart Perrie, aged 54, has been charged with use or a vehicle without third party insurance and aiding/abetting the use of a vehicle when alcohol is above the legal limit. 

Both men, from Warrington, have been bailed and are due to appear at Halton Magistrates Court on Thursday, May 29.
