A TEAM of brave staff and students descended from the top of the Warrington Collegiate on Thursday, raising almost £300 for the Walton Lea Project.

Students from both the level three business course and the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy and staff at the Warrington Collegiate pushed any fear of heights to one side as they abseiled the 80ft descent from the top of the building.

Jess Dixon, aged 18, from Callands said: “This is a challenging and different way to raise money for charity. Everyone has loved the idea and lots of staff and students got involved on the day.”

Mandy Jones, lecturer in business and enterprise, added: “The students have really enjoyed organising the event.

“It’s great for them to get involved in activities outside the classroom; it both enhances their studies and enables them to gain valuable skills to use in their future careers.”
