THE FIGHT against cancer for a seven-year-old boy from Cinnamon Brow continues as he battles through intensive chemotherapy.

Kian Edwards, of Blackledge Close, is officially in remission from leukemia, but still faces regular hospital visits while at high risk of infection.

In recent weeks the Cinnamon Brow Primary School pupil has needed several blood transfusions, and when at home is required to take a raft of prescription medicines.

Mum Tammy is urging parents to watch for warning signs, after claiming five weeks of appointments with a GP did not establish why Kian was ill.

She said: “Five weeks Kian was poorly for, and the doctor kept telling us it was a viral infection.

“When Kian was diagnoised he had 80 percent of his bone marrow full of luekemia.

“I will never be going back to that GP.”

Tammy started campaign Kian’s Journey as a way of raising money for Alder Hey Hospital’s childrens’ oncology ward.

She has organised a fun day at Cinnamon Brow Farm Club on Sunday at 1pm.

There will be a fairground, table top sale and bouncy castle.
