A WARRINGTON police officer is set to feature on a new BBC show, tracking volunteers from training to first days on the beat.

Beccy Purcell, who is from the town, has been followed by television cameras since being accepted as a special constable with Cheshire Police.

Special constables are volunteers with police powers.

Along with five colleagues, Beccy stars on series First Time on the Front Line, as they learn to handle everything from a drugs raid to road accident.

It is due to be aired on BBC One on Monday, April 28.
