TWO men have been charged by police after a car was reported as stolen at knife point from a Padgate pub and then crashed on a residential road.

The incident happened at 8.40am yesterday, Monday, when police were called to reports a red Peugeot car had been stolen from a man at the Jolly Falstaff pub on Blackbrook Square.

He is reported to have been threatened with a knife.

The car was found on Viscount Road, Padgate, at around 9.18am with four men arrested.

Kenneth Williamson, aged 27, of Westland Drive, Padgate, has been charged with theft from a shop, and criminal damage.

Samuel Sherratt, aged 21, of Poplars Avenue, Orford, has been charged with aggravated vehicle taking, drink driving, and driving with no insurance. 

They are due to appear at Halton Magistrates Court on May 13.

Two other men, both from Warrington and aged 26 and 27, have been released without charge.
