A MAN was treated for smoke inhalation after a kitchen fire in Penketh this morning, Monday.

Fire crews were called to an address on Coronation Drive following a blaze in the kitchen at 6.50am.

One man was treated at the scene for the effects of inhaling smoke.

Firefighters say the fire was believed to have started in a chip pan.

Hard to believe anyone still uses a chip pan at home. But after a night out with Alcohol (oh no I can see another SAC rant on the horizon) just has to be a really bad idea. Mind you this could have been an early morning fry up, but somehow i doubt it. Problem is no chippy would still be open this late / early. Cornflakes next time :)
