A HAYDOCK man is behind bars after waging a campaign of terror on a Warrington family he had loaned £1,000 for a holiday.
Paul Joinson, formerly from Alfred Road in Haydock, gave his victim the cash with extremely high interest in August 2013.
But when the victim failed to pay back the money, the 33-year-old intimidated and threatened the victim ending with him threatening the victim′s partner with a knife after forcing entry to their home address.
Investigating officer DC Thomas Hall said the victim and his family had to be moved into secure accommodation while police gathered evidence.
Joinson pleaded guilty to putting a person in fear of violence and was sentenced to 12 months imprisonment at Chester Crown Court on April 4.
DC Hall added: “Joinson had little regard for the effect he was having on this family but now he is paying the price for his actions.”
