A ST ROCCO’S runner completing her 20th London Marathon managed to complete the race in under three hours.

Louise Blizzard, of Mill Close, Houghton Green, ran the 26.2 mile race in 2.58.42 as she tackled the race on behalf of the hospice this time.

The 38-year-old first ran the marathon at the age of 18 with her dad and has continued since then by qualifying for the elite race every year since then.

In her 20th year Louise decided to raise money for St Rocco’s Hospice and Halton Haven Hospice in memory of loved ones.

She said: “Paul Darbyshire passed away in 2011 after a courageous battle with Motor Neurone Disease, the way Paul battled his disease with courage and dignity was, and continues to be, an inspiration to many.

“I’m raising funds for St Rocco’s Hospice, to remember Paul, and thank the staff and support of the hospice for their care of Paul and his family.”
