TWO lanes closed on the M6 southbound at Croft interchange after a crash with a lorry saw a van overturn onto its roof have been opened again.

Lanes one and two were closed on the approach to Thelwall Viaduct at 10.25am.

All lanes are now open although the Highways Agency has warned traffic is still heavy in the area.

The van overturned between J21A, Croft interchange, and J21, Woolston, where roadworks are already taking place.

A spokesman for North West Ambulance Service said one man, aged in his mid 30s, has been taken to Warrington Hospital with a hand injury.

Delays of up to 90 minutes have been reported.
