A FUNDING boost is music to the ears for members of the Warrington Youth Offending Service (YOS).

It will work with Score Creative Education in a bid to rehabilitate young criminals through music.

After a successful application to the National Foundation of Youth Music children’s charity, the service has been awarded £49,000 for the Plugged In scheme.

The ‘Back on Track’ music project will be launched by the YOS on June 2 and will run for around 12 months.

Celebrations of their success took place on Thursday at the Orford Youth Base.

Steve Oates, Score Creative Education director said: “Our recent work at Orford Youth Base shows that making music can provide young people with opportunities for personal development and we’re looking forward to seeing the positive effects this has on those involved.”
