TWO of the town's cutest tots donned their cheekiest smiles to collect their awards after they clinched the Warrington Guardian’s title of Guardian Angels.

Marcus John Cade, of Watkin Street, was the champion in the 0 to 18 months category after having his pictures taken in the Cockhedge Shopping Centre.

The 18 month old is the first child to proud parents Patricia Duncan and Christopher Cade from Orford.

Mum Patricia said: “I got a little bit emotional when I found out. I was overwhelmed as I really hoped he’d win.”

The youngster, who has started exploring everything in his sight, managed to stay still for long enough to pose for the camera.

His mum added: “He has always been very happy in front of the camera. He has already learnt how to pose.

“He’s so much fun to be around, full of energy and very happy most of the time.”

Successful in the 19 months to aged three category was Halle Macey Kelly, of Sandy Lane, who had her picture taken in the Birchwood Shopping Centre.

The chatty two-year-old was delighted to have another cup to drink from - her new trophy - and parents Cheryl Archer and Michael Kelly could not be more proud of their daughter.

Mum Cheryl said: “I was made up when I found out. I did not expect it but it was amazing news.

“She’s been showing her winner’s cup to everyone. It doesn’t matter who it is.”

Halle, who prides herself on being one of the world’s biggest Peppa Pig fans, loved seeing her picture in the paper following the announcement.

Grandma Sue Fairhurst: “She’s lovely and so polite and she’s very good at talking.”

When she grows up, Halle hopes to become a doctor and is always looking after her Grandma Sue and Grandma Brenda White.

“She loves helping people and making them better. She has a doctor’s kit at home and likes giving people medicine,” said Sue.
