HEALTH warnings have been issued by the Government as a mix of high levels of air pollution and dust from the Sahara desert have been forecast for today, Wednesday.

Defra has reported a moderate level of air pollution in Warrington and a slightly higher level around the Walton Hall gardens area.

According to the forecast for tomorrow, the air pollution index will increase to a seven, classed as 'high', in the Walton Hall gardens area.

Advice for the general population is to carry on 'usual outdoor activities' but adults and children with lung problems in the town and adults with heart problems, who experience symptoms, have been advised to consider reducing strenuous physical activity, particularly outdoors.

Have you seen evidence of Saharan dust and sand in the town?
