A £100,000 project to improve Risley Moss for wildlife lovers, families and dog walkers is now under way.

Restoration work on the nature reserve’s paths starts today, Wednesday, and access to the site will be limited during the project for the next couple of months.

Ranger Gaynor Kerry said: “The work will involve some major access restrictions and path closures during the next few weeks causing some disruption until the middle of June.

“Warrington Borough Council rangers at Risley Moss apologise for any inconvenience.”

The Forestry Commission provided £50,000 for the improvement scheme while Wren, a not-for-profit business that awards community grants, made up the £50,000 shortfall.
