RUNNERS will be taking to the lanes of south Warrington next weekend for the Whitley 10k.

The event takes place next Sunday, April 13 at 11am.

There are prizes for first, second and third placed men, women and veterans as well as medals for every finisher.

There will also be a fun run, which starts a few minutes after the main 10k race, and follows a 4.7km/2.9 mile course.

Entry is £13 or £11 for England Athletics registered runners, there are 500 places and you can sign up online at runnersworld.co.uk/events/ or runbritain.com/races.

You can also enter on the day for an extra £2.

The fun run costs £5 for adults and £3 for under 16s.

This year's event is sponsored by Eric Wright Civil Engineering based in Bamber Bridge and also The Village Hotel and Leisure Club, at Centre Park in Warrington.
