Warrington Guardian: Outstanding score for Lymm school from Ofsted Outstanding score for Lymm school from Ofsted

IT was a day of celebration for both pupils and staff at independent special school Cornerstones after it was awarded outstanding across the board by Ofsted inspectors.

The school in Lymm, which supports young people with autism and learning difficulties, was handed the highest rating available to Ofsted.

The company director, Paul O’Leary, said: “We are very proud of the entire staff team’s commitment which has consistently delivered outstanding Ofsted ratings in each of our three children’s homes since 2008.

“However, the addition of an outstanding rating in our school tells the story of just how much can be collectively achieved if people are passionate and dedicated in their work.”

The school on Booths Lane, which was visited by Ofsted on March 6 to 8, was praised for providing a ‘calm, purposeful learning environment where pupils make great strides in their learning’.

The report added: “Robust policies and procedures are implemented very effectively ensuring that pupils are exceptionally well supported and cared for at all times.”

The leadership and management were also commended for their ‘consistent drive for excellence’.
