QUESTIONS have been raised over the length of time taken to act on patient problems after NHS England confirmed today, Friday, CCA Partnership's contract with the GP surgery in Culcheth has been terminated.

A spokesman said: “Due to difficulties experienced by the contract holders (CCA Partnership) and following ongoing discussions (with NHS England) it has regrettably been decided,  by mutual agreement,  to terminate the contract and make alternative arrangements for the immediate future of the practices."

It is understood ‘caretaker’ practice Central Park Medical Centre has been appointed to manage the practice and provide clinical leadership.

CCA Care partnerships run the CCA Partnership Health Centre in Culcheth as well as the Chapelford Health Centre and the Appleton Health Centre.

Warrington North MP Helen Jones said: “Frankly,  I am not surprised at this latest development.

"My question is why were the problems allowed to get to this stage.

"Everyone in Culcheth, who is a patient at the CCA surgery, has been aware of problems at the practice not least how difficult it has been to get an appointment – a fact raised with Healhwatch Warrington by the local parish council months ago.

“Now that NHS England has taken action I hope that they will live up to their promise and ensure long lasting improvements will be made so that people in Culcheth can have confidence in the GP services offered by that practice."
