THE ongoing roadworks on the M56 will see the whole westbound carriageway close from 10pm tonight, Wednesday.
It will shut between Bowdon at junction seven and eight and Lymm at junction nine to allow resurfacing to take place.
It is part of a £2.86million project to put a new concrete safety barried in place.
The road will reopn at 6am.
A diversion will be in place with drivers sent along the southbound A556 to junction 19 of the M6 at Knutsford where they can join the northbound M6 - leaving at junction 20 to re-join the westbound M56 should they wish.
