Warrington Guardian: Network Warrington night buses to continue for 'foreseeable future' Network Warrington night buses to continue for 'foreseeable future'

NETWORK Warrington says it will continue to operate night services as contracted by Warrington Borough Council after rumours that buses could be cut after 9pm.

Fears have been expressed over the potential for late evening services to be scaled back.

But a spokesman for Network Warrington said: “At Network Warrington, we are continually reviewing all of our services and match them to customer demand.

"Many of the evening services are tendered by Warrington Borough Council and we are contracted to carry on operating them as they are for the foreseeable future.”

Rumours are true, the Council have already had a meeting and the motion was passed to curtail services after 2100. There are also numerous planned service cuts from June which will leave certain areas without any bus service.

Surely a good reliable bus service is essential to a town that wants to build a vibrant night scene & has aspirations to become a city.

Cuts in june (possibly delayed slightly) very probable to most services and an amalgamation of certain routes in north warrington. As for the evening service cuts, wait until after the local election nudge nudge wink wink. But don't worry if you live on the 31 route thats ring fenced for the 7 people that use it. Only god knows why!
