MOTORISTS faced traffic nightmares after a lorry spilled diesel and paint onto a motorway slip road.

Two men were taken to hospital around 4.40am on Tuesday following the crash at the Croft interchange of the M6 to the M62.

The road was closed for six hours while workers removed debris and fuel.

The men were taken to Warrington Hospital and treated for minor injuries.
