How many surgeries, face-to-face meetings, opinion polls does he need? Or like a lot of politicians, does it carry on until we get the right answer?

He doesn't want any sort of answer. It's just the illusion of democracy. If people tell him his job is a politically inspired sinecure that has no defined objectives, no measurements and no accountability and so he should resign immediately so the budget can be spent on actual policing, will he do it? Or will he wait until we deliver that message yet again at the ballot box, then ignore it?
