A WOOLSTON school was praised for its ‘very creative curriculum’ and the ‘outstanding behaviour’ of its pupils following a visit from Ofsted inspectors.
King's Leadership Academy was graded as good overall following an inspection on January 28 and 29.
The school on Seymour Drive also achieved a rating of outstanding in the behaviour and safety of pupils and leadership and management.
In the report, published today, it read: “The school community is built upon firm values and principles, resulting in outstanding behaviour.
"Integrity, respect and endeavour have become learnt behaviours, leading to a strong and intrinsic motivation to succeed.”
Education Minister Elizabeth Truss, who visited the school to congratulate staff and pupils today, said: “It was a pleasure to visit the King's Leadership Academy, where I was struck by the outstanding attitude and focus of the pupils and the constant drive to achieve the best for every child.
“This school is an excellent example of how the free school programme is offering pupils and parents more choice in Warrington and right across the country.”
The school narrowly missed out on being handed a rating of outstanding overall as standards in writing are not consistently high across a range of subjects and teaching, assessment and marking are not of a consistently high quality in all subjects.
