A MAN, who stole diazepam tablets from work to sell to a friend, said he only did it so he could buy his daughter an iPad.
Konrad Galadyk, of Museum Street, was on caught on CCTV stealing the drugs from AAH Pharmaceuticals on Woburn Road while he was working as a cleaner for an agency.
Twenty boxes of diazepam, with 28 tablets per box, were taken by Galadyk from January 22 to January 24.
When police searched his home, a small quantity of cannabis was found along with scales and snap bags but it was claimed that this was for personal use.
The court heard how Galadyk had been struggling to make a living after moving to the UK in August 2012 and had been finding it difficult.
The 34-year-old, who has no previous convictions, will now be sentenced at Warrington Crown Court later this year.
