IT was time to say goodbye to one of Warrington’s most well known retailers on Saturday.

Whites Sports Shop, based in the back corner of Warrington Market will close next month and visitors got the chance to celebrate 113 years of history with staff.

Current owner Susan White has decided to retire at the end of April and held a day packed with history, games and even a specially made cake.

Throughout March and April the shop will be offering up to 50 per cent off sale items.

And while their presence in the town centre may be coming to an end, the name will live on with a heritage collection available at whitessports.com and on Twitter @whites_sports.
