AFTER taking on storms and searing heat, a former Great Sankey High School pupil has crossed the Atlantic.
Matt Inglesby, of Winwick Park, was part of a seven-strong crew rowing the 3,000 mile challenge completing it in 32 days, 22 hours, 31 minutes and 25 seconds.
The happy team arrived in Barbados on Saturday despite a number of them having never been in a rowing boat before.
Matt, aged 21, took on the marathon task to raise cash for his friend Kerry Greenfield, from Widnes, in the hope of helping her walk again after she was born with spina bifida occulta with tethered cord syndrome.
