ASPIRING gymnasts will finally be able to hone their talents at a site fit for future Olympians after council planning chiefs gave the green light to convert four industrial units on Wharf Street into a gym and dance studio.

Warrington Gymnastics Club, which already has 300 members and a 250-long waiting list, are now getting ready to move from their current location at Evans House on Norman Street with the work expected to be completed by mid April.

The new facility will also offer dance classes from The Dance Studio Warrington as well as catering for bigger gymnastics classes and creating 25 part-time jobs.

The new venue will include a large gymnasium, changing rooms, office and storage space, toilets and a café and waiting area on the ground floor with a dance studio and viewing gallery and toilets on the first floor.

Head coach Martin Williams said: “At long last Warrington Gymnastics Club will have a facility that will benefit not only the current members, but the community as a whole.

“Already the membership has grown considerably and the club welcomes new members to come and partake in gymnastics under the expert guidance of the coaches.”

Help is also need to help strip and paint the walls at the new facilities and paint donations are also needed. For more information e-mail psg@warringtongymnastics.co.uk.
