SHARON Powers will be hoping to clinch the title of tradeswoman of the year for her plumbing proficiency.
The Golden Gates Housing Trust (GGHT) employee is a finalist at the 2014 Women in Construction Awards.
As one of only two female plumbers in the trust Sharon tackled her plumbing apprenticeship after first joining GGHT as a temporary loft inspector in 2008.
Angela Perry GGHT director of property services, said: “It has given me great pleasure to see Sharon develop and achieve her ambitions and she is great asset to GGHT.
"Being shortlisted is a fantastic reward for her hard work and dedication and we are all keeping our fingers crossed that she can pick up the award on that evening.”
Sharon will find out if she has won at an awards evening on March 26.
