THE son of a woman killed after being hit by a car on Lovely Lane has admitted threatening to stab a teenager in the eye.

Halton Magistrates Court heard last Wednesday of the turmoil the family of Donna Davies has suffered since she died in the fatal accident outside Warrington Hospital last year.

Son Jonathan James Davies, aged 18, of Whitecross Road, pleaded guilty to harassment after calling a female he knew ‘numerous times’ and threatening her.

The court heard the death of his mum had played a ‘significant role’ in him acting out of character to make the threats.

Ali Sarwar, prosecuting, said the calls were made on February 3 this year, with comments also left on Facebook.

The court heard during one call Davies told his victim ‘the next time you’re in hospital it will be for broken bones, I will stamp on you’.

In a statement read out in court, the victim said she was ‘scared’ and did not want to go to college as she believed the defendant would assault her.

Mr Sarwar said Davies also threatened to break her windows and called her a ‘slag’.

In another phone call, the court heard Davies told the girl to ‘watch her back’.

Mr Sarwar said: “He (Davies) said she would get stabbed in her face and laughed down the phone.

“He passed the phone to other people who threatened her.”

The court heard further abusive phone calls were made that day, all from a withheld number.

Davies said the victim, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, was a ‘fat slut’ and ‘tramp’ who should ‘drop dead’.

The female, who lives alone, feared an attack at her home following the phone calls, Mr Sarwar said.

The court heard the ‘tragic accident’ that saw Mrs Davies killed, and subsequent suspended sentence for Great Sankey driver Balbinder Dhillon, has had a serious effect on the defendant.

Davies cried in the dock as District Judge Bridget Knight said all sentencing options including prison remain open.

The hearing was adjourned for reports.
