A FORMER Great Sankey High School pupil is on target to break the current world record of 32 days rowing the 3,000 mile distance across the Atlantic Ocean.
Proud mum Elaine said 21-year-old Matt Inglesby has been contending with storms and 118f heat, which at the time was the second hottest place on the planet after Adelaide in Australia, alongside the seven man crew during the charity challenge.
Matt is taking on marathon task to raise cash for his friend Kerry Greenfield, from Widnes, in the hope of helping her walk again after she was born with spina bifida occulta with tethered cord syndrome.
The boat can be tracked and messages of support can be left on the website via oceanusrowing.co.uk/titan-toby-wallace/ or donate via gofundme.com/6acu8o.
