A TRANSGENDER victim says she is scared to leave her own home after a window was deliberately smashed.

Halton Magistrates Court heard on Thursday how Alexander Stoll, aged 32, from Latchford, carried out the criminal damage.

In a statement read out in court, the victim said the incident had a ‘severe and profound affect’ on her.

She said: “It has left me traumatised.

“As a result I am frightened to leave my home.

“I have spiralled into a deep depression.

“I feel like a prisoner in my own home.”

Stoll, who is known to the victim, hurled a weight from exercise equipment he owned through her kitchen window on New Year’s Eve last year.

Lionel Cope, prosecuting, says the defendant claimed the attack was over money the victim owed to his mum.

The court heard Stoll was ‘unpredictable’ when drinking and had been seen to ‘headbutt walls’ in his own home.

Mr Cope said eggs and stones have previously been thrown at the victim’s windows ‘because of her lifestyle’.

The court heard the victim had a transgender operation to change from man to woman.

In the statement, she added: “I just want to be able to live my life without worry or fear.”

During a police interview Stoll said he could not remember the incident, but then admitted smashing the window over the alleged £90 debt.

He confirmed calling the victim a ‘tranny’ but said he was drunk and had no intention of hurting her.

When police asked if he knew what a hate crime was, he said yes, the court heard.

Stoll pleaded guilty to criminal damage.

Prosecutors said the offence was ‘aggravated’ by the victim being transgender.

The hearing was adjourned for sentence to be passed at a later date.

Stoll was bailed to live at his brother’s address in Brighton Street, Whitecross.

Judge Bridget Knight banned him from entering Latchford while the case continues.

She warned Stoll he faces prison if he ignores the court order.
