HARD-WORKING youngsters in Warrington could be wearing a gown and mortar board a little earlier than expected with a helping hand from the Children’s University.

The project, which is just one of the initiatives on offer through the Warrington Wolves Foundation, aims to raise aspirations, boost achievement and foster a love of learning.

Twelve schools have already signed up to the scheme in Warrington where pupils collect credits for participating in school-led activities.

Children who collect more than 30 credits will attend a graduation ceremony at St Elphin’s Church.

Pupils from Dallam Primary School and Bewsey Lodge Primary School visited The Halliwell Jones Stadium on Thursday to take part in the Imagine Programme.

Teacher Sue Wood from Dallam Primary School said: “It is about providing opportunities and encouraging them to take part in activities that they haven’t done before.

“It’s about giving them ideas for the future and showing them what they can achieve when they put their minds to it.”
