Massive delays on M6 due to roadworks

Warrington Guardian: Massive delays on M6 due to roadworks Massive delays on M6 due to roadworks

MOTORISTS are facing massive delays on the M6 this morning due to roadworks.

The Highways Agency say it is taking almost two hours to travel from Standish near Wigan to junction 21 at Woolston.

The delays are being blamed on the work on the Thelwall Viaduct which started last week and the morning rush hour traffic.

The delays are hitting the southbound carriageway.

It sickens me that they have spent about 2 weeks putting up the speed cameras. Surely the time could've been spent actually doing the needed work.
I understand the repairs have to be paid for somehow, but surely our road tax should be paying for this work.

Given the traffic reports today I doubt very much they'll be making much money from the speed cameras!
