THREE people have been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a major crash in Warrington.

Police say three vehicles were involved in a collision around 8.25pm on Friday at Kingsway Bridge in Latchford.

Two vehicles, a black Rover and a white Ford Focus were travelling on the A50 towards Latchford when the collision happened with a black Corsa which was heading in the opposite direction.

The driver of the Rover suffered a serious leg injury and the passenger has also suffered serious but not life threatening injuries. They were both cut free by firefighters.

The driver of the Corsa also has to be cut free and has also suffered serious but not life threatening injuries.

All three have been taken to nearby hospitals.

The Focus was also involved in the collision but nobody was seriously injured.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to the crash or anyone who may have seen the vehicles in the moments before the collision to get in touch.
