TWO men seen acting suspiciously at a town centre cashpoint have been charged by police after they were linked to ‘skimming’ equipment.
Adrian Alexa, aged 29, and Dimitru Ciciu, aged 30, both of no fixed abode, were stopped in a car after going to Santander on Buttermarket Street at 8.15pm on February 5.
Sgt Rob Horton and PC Mike Parr, from Warrington Town Centre NPU, found they possessed new notes and arrested them.
A laptop was found containing footage of a skimming device - used to steal card and bank details when someone uses a cashpoint - being installed.
The Romanian nationals have been charged with fraud and are due to appear at Halton Magistrates Court with a date to be set.
