AN Orford man has denied charges of growing cannabis to deal.

Michael Ginnini, aged 48, of School Road, pleaded not guilty to possessing a controlled drug of class B with intent at Halton Magistrates Court on Thursday.

Katherine Whincup, prosecuting, said he was arrested on Janaury 21 after being stopped by police in the street and found to be in possession of a bag of cannabis.

A ‘bucket’ of cannabis containing 14 ‘wraps’ was later found at his home address, the court heard.

The defendant is due to appear at Chester Crown Court on June 16.
