TV campaign highlights importance of local newspapers

First published in News

A new TV campaign launches today, which highlights the important role that local newspapers play in the community.

With You All The Way is an animated advert that has been financed by a group of independent publishers.

A 30-second video will be aired on ITV, with the full 90-second version (below), appearing on weekly newspaper websites.

The campaign is being run by the Weekly Independent Newspaper Association and supported by the Newspaper Society and Tindle Newspapers.

“Weekly newspapers are the cornerstone of the newspaper industry in the UK," said David Newell, director of the Newspaper Society. "They connect communities and businesses together in a way in which no other media can.

“The Newspaper Society will play its full part in supporting the WINA campaign and in ensuring key opinion formers understand the central role weekly newspapers have in today’s media landscape.”

Not this one. It promotes division and disharmony and stifles political debate.

Agree with you both, I commented on a story about the expansion of Alcan in Latchford, they did not like my comments or had a complaint from Alcan or Morris homes and removed the whole story. WG is a dictatorship where you can only comment on what they let you!
(Alcan being that aluminium recycling plant not sure what it is called now)
Still Grumpy
